Dean B. Shamplo, age 82, of Waldron Rd., Pittsford, Michigan passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2008, at home. He was born April 8, 1925, in Wright Twp., Michigan to Clifford B. and Viva (Laser) Shamplo. He married Effie E. Carmean on October 10, 1953, in Ransom, Michigan and she survives.

Dean was a life long farmer and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Hudson American Legion Hannan Colvin Post #180, Waldron V.F.W. and also enjoyed the outdoors, planting trees and reading.

Surviving Dean besides his wife, Effie of Pittsford are three sons, Burton (Judy) Shamplo of Waldron, Russell (Kathy) Shamplo and Donald Shamplo all of Pittsford; three sisters, Margaret Bonner of Jackson, Beverly Mullaly of Hudson and Joyce (Robert) Shannon of Pittsford; two brothers, Wendell (Theresa) Shamplo of North Platte, Nebraska and James (Marion) Shamplo of Hudson and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Clifford in 1982, and Philip in 2006.

Funeral services for Dean Shamplo will be Saturday, January 19, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson with Rev. Clyde Wonders officiating. Military rites conducted by the Hudson American Legion will follow in Waldron Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
